On-line FBI Video "Don't Call Me Killer"

- Available
Valid from: September 9, 2013 12:00AM - September 9, 2014 12:00AM

The purpose of this video is to discuss the reality of what officers, dispatchers, and family members might experience after an officer-involved shooting.  For some, there may be minimal impact, while others may struggle with a variety of issues, to include:  media and legal matters, discussing the incident with their children, family stress, returning to work, and reactions from co-workers.  Officers who were at the scene but did not actually pull the trigger may face even different challenges.  Personnel advocate the value of the Critical Incident Stress Management Debriefing process and benefits of a Peer Support Program.
